Meet Shayla!

14 Year-Old ~ Lab

Proof that the greatest loves come with a little grey.

Shayla is a sweet and gentle 14-year-old senior girl with a calm, easygoing nature and a heart full of love. She’s perfectly house-trained, doesn’t require a crate, and simply wants to be near her people — whether you’re outside in the garden or curled up on the couch.

Shayla walks beautifully on leash and enjoys a short, relaxed stroll each day. While she’s happy to share her home with another calm dog, she’d prefer to avoid high-energy companions. Shayla hasn’t met cats or small animals in her foster home, but she shows no signs of prey drive and tends to move at a slow, steady pace.

Shayla was surrendered by her previous family after they had children, and although she hasn’t shown any aggression, she does bark when she sees kids and clearly prefers to keep her distance. Because of this, we’re looking for a quiet, low-activity home without children, where she can feel safe, settled, and loved.

Shayla doesn’t chew, get into mischief, or show any signs of separation anxiety. She is content to follow you around during the day or nap peacefully nearby. She sheds a bit, but that’s just part of her charm.

Because she’s in her golden years, we’re waiving Shayla’s adoption fee in hopes of finding her the perfect retirement home — someone who sees the beauty in senior dogs and is ready to offer her the comfort and peace she deserves.

If you have a quiet home and an open heart, Shayla may be the companion you’ve been waiting for.
