Meet Molly!

10 Years Old - Yorkie Mix

Senior sweetness looking for a place to call home.

Molly is an 10-year-old gentle soul who brings a sense of calm and comfort wherever she goes. She’s the kind of dog whose presence feels soft and steady - never demanding, never overwhelming. Instead, she builds trust slowly, observing her surroundings with quiet curiosity until she feels safe. And once she does, she becomes a deeply affectionate companion who loves cuddles, closeness, and simply being near her person.

In her foster home, Molly lives peacefully with other dogs. She doesn’t rely on them for confidence, but she coexists comfortably and appreciates their company in a relaxed, easygoing way. She hasn’t been exposed to cats or small animals, so it’s unclear how she might respond, though her temperament suggests she would be more cautious than confrontational.

Molly has met an older child and handled the interaction beautifully. She was calm and accepting, happy to be near someone who approached her gently. For this reason, she would do best in a home with older, respectful children rather than young or unpredictable ones. Molly is sensitive to being touched around her face, so a household that understands her boundaries will help her feel safe and at ease.

When it comes to house training, Molly does quite well. She uses puppy pads when needed and generally keeps herself on track, though she may occasionally leave a small accident. This is not uncommon for senior dogs, and she responds well to consistency and routine. She is not crate trained, and there’s been no need - Molly doesn’t chew, doesn’t get into mischief. However, she does experience separation anxiety, becoming distressed when left alone. She would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time and where she can enjoy the steady companionship she craves. An active senior would be a perfect companion for Miss Molly!

Molly enjoys going for walks and does nicely on a harness. She isn’t a high-energy dog, but she does appreciate time outdoors and loves to run and play in the backyard when the mood strikes. Indoors, she is content to lounge, nap, and curl up beside her person. She doesn’t appear to have strong preferences for toys but enjoys gentle play and the simple joy of being near her humans. Her diet reflects her personality - a little particular, but easy to manage. She dislikes dry food (likely related to a painful mouth which has been addressed through double dental surgery since arriving in our care) but otherwise she has no sensitivities or restrictions. She accepts treats happily and shows no signs of resource guarding around food, toys, or people. She is indifferent to car rides and does not shed, making her a wonderfully tidy companion.

Molly’s ideal home is one that matches her quiet, affectionate nature. She would thrive with a single adult or an older couple who can provide stability, gentle affection, and a calm environment. A fenced yard would give her a safe place to explore, though regular walks would also keep her happy and balanced. She’s not a high-activity dog but enjoys bursts of play followed by long, cozy stretches on the couch.

In short, Molly is a tender, loyal, and low-maintenance companion who wants nothing more than to feel safe and loved. She’s ready to spend her golden years with someone who appreciates the beauty of an older dog and the quiet joy she brings into a home.
