Meet Cranberry!

4 Months Old - "Iqaluit Special"

The cuddliest berry in the patch!

Cranberry is the kind of puppy who slips into your life with quiet charm and then fills your home with sunshine before you’ve even realized it’s happening! At just over three months old, she is sweet, soft-natured, and wonderfully cuddly - an easy little soul with a gentle curiosity about the world. She may be young, but she already carries herself with the confidence and warmth of a dog who knows she is safe and loved!

From her first day in foster care, Cranberry showed just how social she is. She lives with two resident dogs and she adores them both. Playtime is her favourite sport, and she bounds around the house with the silly, floppy enthusiasm only a puppy can pull off. She would thrive in a home with another friendly dog, not because she struggles without one, but because having a buddy brings her so much joy! She loves the company, the games, and the comfort of a canine friend curled up nearby.

Cranberry has also had regular exposure to a young child, her foster family’s four-year-old - whose songs, wiggles, and excited noises don’t faze her in the slightest. She accepts love from children with the same openness she gives everyone. For a young puppy to be this patient and adaptable is truly special, and it speaks volumes about the steady, affectionate dog she is growing into. She would be a lovely fit for families with kids who understand how to be gentle with a small pup.

As with any puppy her age, Cranberry is still learning the basics. She is pee-pad trained and is beginning to signal when she needs to go outside, which is a wonderful start! House training is a slow and steady process, but she’s getting there! She is also crate trained and does well for a couple of hours at a time without drama, fuss or anxiety. When left alone, she doesn’t cry or bark, though she is certainly in her “chew everything” phase, which is absolutely normal for her age. Her foster family redirects her to appropriate chew toys, and she responds well.

Cranberry walks on leash with the same sweet enthusiasm she brings to everything else. Her foster describes it as “herding” energy - curious, zig-zaggy, and adorable - but with gentle guidance she is improving every day. She’s not fearful, not reactive, just new to the world and taking it all in with big puppy eyes!

Cranberry is currently fed puppy food only, split into three meals a day because she eats with gusto. She may benefit from a slow feeder in her new home. She’s not picky, has no known sensitivities, and has shown zero signs of resource guarding. She’s simply a happy little girl who loves her meals, her toys, and especially her people. She is a little nervous in the car, but with consistent positive experiences, she’ll likely grow out of this. Otherwise, she is all softness and sweetness: slinky cuddles, belly-up naps, and the kind of affection that melts your heart on contact.

Cranberry’s typical day includes outdoor time, puppy play with the resident dogs, couch snuggles, sunshine naps, chewing on everything she can reach (with redirection!), and curling up with her foster siblings when she’s sleepy. She approaches life with innocence and joy!

Cranberry is expected to weigh-in around 25lbs when fully mature and she is ready for a family who will guide her, love her, and enjoy the sweetness of watching her grow. Whoever adopts her is getting a truly darling companion - one whose gentle heart will make every day just a little bit brighter!
