Meet Zia!

5 Year Old - Chihuahua Mix

Give her a ball, and she will give you her heart!

This sweet, quirky girl has one true passion in life: her ball. If you’ve been dreaming of a dog who takes fetch to Olympic levels, Zia is your champion! She’ll chase, retrieve, and happily plop her beloved ball right back into your hands!

Zia has a gentle, sensitive soul. She may be a bit standoffish at first, but once she gets to know you, her affectionate and loyal side shines. She’s not a fan of loud noises or overly boisterous energy, so a calm but active home would be her ideal match. She’s fine with respectful children and may do well with a mellow dog buddy, but noisy or barky dogs stress her out.

This clever girl is fully house-trained, has no interest in counter-surfing, and isn’t destructive when left alone—as long as her housemates keep it chill. She hasn’t been crate-trained, but she settles well with a calm canine companion. However, she has shown signs of separation anxiety, but only when paired with high-energy dogs who react to every outside sound.

While she hasn’t met cats or critters, she doesn’t pay much attention to squirrels, so she might be fine with proper introductions. Zia walks well on leash and loves her daily walks almost as much as her ball sessions. She eats twice a day—breakfast and dinner—and turns her nose up at fishy flavors but will do anything for a dried liver treat.

Zia does best when allowed to move at her own pace. She’s a bit sensitive around her face and may bark when first meeting someone, but she warms up quickly. She’s indifferent to car rides and doesn’t have a rigid routine—she’s adaptable, as long as love, fetch, and a quiet vibe are in the mix.

Ideal Home:
   •    Calm, quiet environment
   •    No loud or reactive dogs
   •    Possibly a calm canine friend or solo princess
   •    Respectful kids okay
   •    A backyard or space for fetch is a major bonus!

Zia is ready to be someone’s loyal, playful best friend. All she asks is a loving home—and that you never lose her ball.
