CAPTAIN - Special Needs

Poodle Mix | 9 Years | Male | Small It is hard to imagine a dog could be any sweeter than our Captain. As a completely blind dog rescued in horrific condition off the streets of Mexico, we are thrilled to be able to give him a chance at a happy life here in Canada. Captain is extremely quiet, low energy and exceptionally well-mannered and he has not had one accident in his foster home. He will need a home without a lot of stairs due to his inability to see, but he navigates well on one level. He is understandably nervous and uncomfortable on leash, but this may come as he builds his trust with his forever human, and develops a set route he can familiarize himself with. He shares his foster home with other dogs and a cat, and has been an absolute gentleman to all. We feel that due to his inability to see, along with some possible hearing impairment as well, having another calm and confident dog in his forever home may help him feel more comfortable, and give him a companion from whom he can take cues from while learning about his new environment. A busy home or a home with young children would not be ideal for him, as he really needs a quiet place where he can feel at ease and enjoy his golden years. If you are looking for a dog who likes to nestle in for a good cuddle, look no further than Captain.
