Bonny ~ 10 Months ~ St.Bernard

Beautiful Bonny was abandoned in Mexico, and was rescued by our partners there and sent to Canada and a much more appropriate climate for her breed.

As a young dog, Bonny is continuing to work on her training. We are looking for a family willing to attend puppy classes with her to solidify her basic manners, but she is incredibly smart and eager to please, and is already showing huge progress in her foster home.

Bonny is currently living with both dogs and cats. Outside she loves having the other dogs to run and play with, but indoors she wants to be the dominant dog, so a home with a more submissive canine would likely be the better fit for her. She will need proper canine introductions to ensure a smooth transition. When she first met the resident cats in her foster home, she thought it was fun to chase them, but has since learned to give them their space. She has also met farm animals with nothing more than curiosity.

Exercise is key to keeping Bonny happy and well-balanced. She is an excellent walker on leash, but also loves the opportunity to run, so a good sized fenced yard where she could enjoy stretching her legs would be wonderful for her. Otherwise, a very active family who could ensure her exercise needs are met would be considered.

Bonny is crate trained, but shows no signs of separation anxiety, however as a typical puppy, she is curious and may look for mischief when unsupervised, so while you may have to be cautious about what you leave on counters etc., she is not destructive, and just needs to learn what is off limits, which comes with structure and training.

Bonny would be a good fit in a home with older children. She is still a bouncy puppy so small kids could easily be knocked over in her wake, but she is cuddly and affectionate with all humans right away, and truly just wants to love and be loved.
