Alfred ~ 7 Years Old ~ Maltese/Yorkie X

Meet Alfred!  If his adorable face doesn't steal your heart, his happy, bouncy personality certainly will! This little fellow joined our rescue after he remained an unclaimed pound stray. Initially we thought he may have been older, but after he settled into his foster home, and had his groom, we could see there was nothing senior about him! Alfred has lots of play drive...he is constantly initiating play with his foster siblings, and can go, go, go on leash! He would do well with a younger dog in the home who could match his energy level, and he would definitely appreciate the companionship as well. As much as he enjoys his activity time, he also appreciates his quieter snuggle time as well, and is happy to settle down and relax with his humans.

Alfred's house training is coming along well, but he will need a patient and consistent home who will continue to work on this with positive reinforcement to help him master it completely. In the meantime, he is happy to wear a belly band indoors just in case! Alfred is fully crate trained for nighttime sleeping and short periods throughout the day as necessary. Being a dog that likes to be on the go and close to his people, we would not want him in a home where he would need to spend long days in his crate. Ideally a home where he would not be left alone for extended periods of time would be best, as he does show some signs of separation anxiety when he is not near his people. Alfred could live happily in a home with older children who can respect his small size and personal space. We are looking for a home with securely fenced yard for Alfred (no invisible fencing please).

Please note that due to the high volume of applications we receive, only those deemed to be a potential fit will be contacted further.
